I could have lots of friends if I want to but then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd. I guess you could say I'm a loner, a cowboy outlaw tough and proud. Oh Lord it's hard to be humble but I'm doing the best that I can. Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way, I can't wait to look in the mirror cause I get better looking each day To know me is to love me I must be a hell of a man. Who cares, I never get lonesome cause I treasure my own company. Well I prob'ly could find me another but I guess they're all in awe of me. I used to have a girlfriend but she just couldn't compete with all of these love starved women who keep clamoring at my feet. To know me is to love me I must be a hell of a man. I can't wait to look in the mirror cause I get better loking each day. My writing style is somewhat varied, my taste in music very eclectic.Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way. It is my hope that you might discover something you've never heard before or learn something new about one of your favorite songs. Today, I still continue to follow that line of though.

I started this blog in 2011 with the intention of posting a new song with an accompanying anecdote, story, or bit of information daily. Particularly, in this blog, I get to combine my two great creative passions, music and writing. I continue to write in many different styles, and this, as well as my other blogs, give me the chance to share that writing with the world. My time at Marshall University opened up new avenues for my interest in the written word, where I took every creative writing class offered and pursued a slight, remaining interest in journalism, too, studying with a couple of the department’s professors. The receipt of UHSM and National Quill & Scroll awards prompted me to keep pursuing writing. I later had the chance to showcase my talents and hone a new set of skills on my high school newspaper staff my sophomore through senior years, acting as News Editor, Feature Editor, and Editor-in-Chief, respectively. I began writing more and more short fiction and what one might call essays about the world around me. I took that option, and I never looked back. We had to read something to the class once each week and had the option of writing something we wanted to read. It was in middle school that I also began writing my first story was for an English class. I began to soak of the sounds of everyone from the Eagles to AC/DC to Jay-Z to Green Day. This sent my love of music into overdrive, and it grew throughout middle school and high school as I sought out ever performance opportunity I could, marching band, jazz band, pep band, and as I began to broaden my musical tastes from the contemporary country of the 80’s and 90’s on which I was raised. I grew up around music my dad played in several groups when I was young, and I began to actively play the drums when I turned seven. I would sing anywhere anyone would listen, and I often times even hold a guitar, not being any more capable of playing one then than I am now. Growing up, I was always interested in music. His biggest commecial success came with the hit "Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me" in 1972. All in all, Davis released nineteen studio albums. The album of the same name hit the #3 spot on the country album charts, too. The song was a hit for him in 1980, climbing to #10 on the US country charts. There are plenty of videos of him performing the song out there on YouTube, but when you pair something that's already good with The Muppets, it only gets better. On top of that, he has been a songwriter for many notable artists, and early in his career, he wrote a number of hits for Elvis Presley, including "In the Ghetto" and "A Little Less Conversation".

He has also starred in a variety TV show, a Broadway musical, and several movies. Davis didn't limit himself to comedy in music. Davis is another one that integrates that perspective into his music, too.

People like Roger Miller, Ray Stephens, and Weird Al all do that well.
